WHAT THE HECK IS GOING
ON IN THE MARSH   ???
There are four main elements to this project:

1)        Lowering the elevation of the marsh between Mallard Road
and   the Sea Wall. This will allow storm and coastal floodwaters to
drain into this area, instead of yards or basements.

2)        Replace the small iron pipe under Mallard Road. with a large
“Box Culvert” that will allow water (and fish) to move more effectively
through the marsh. At the same time, we will re-surface Mallard Road
to prevent the migration of gravel into the marsh.

3)        Adjust the mechanical tide gate on Post Island Road to allow
salt water to reach the furthest ends of this marsh.

4)        Create a raised path along the back of the sea wall. This area
will have a view of Quincy Bay, the Boston Outer Islands and our
newly restored Salt marsh/ bird sanctuary/ mosquito eating Fish
hatchery!
